Daniel D. Gregoire spoke to the audience at Siggraph 2019 about Halon’s early adoption of Unreal Engine, and how that decision moved the company into a new era of virtual production.
Dan described some of the challenges we faced early on, and how those challenges influenced the way Halon developed its pipeline, staffed shows, and trained our artists.
Halon has embraced the core principals of real-time embodied in Unreal Engine which has expanded the industries and projects we feel comfortable taking on. It is very important for us to not only hear that we’re important from our tools partners but to see as much. Epic has not only said it is so but shown it though their hires, feature inclusions and forward planning towards our industry.
